Overview

The Purchasing Manager will collaborate with the E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences team through our current rapid growth and fast-paced environment. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will oversee the buying of materials and supplies, including materials used for production of goods for the hotel. Leadership abilities will include the ability to influence business partners on necessary and substantive changes or developments in procurement, to project and process manage, to assess needs, prioritize appropriately, present creative solutions, develop action plans, execute, and measure results. Experience creating a consistent and reliable network of supply partners and customized foodservice solutions required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the items needed meet all culinary requirements as well as progress any quality and control objectives that are established.
  • Confirm product meets the specifications provided by the Food and Beverage operations teams. Support any food safety risk assessments, vendor standards, or recalls.
  • Monitor inbound logistics to the first receiver to optimize inventory and supply.
  • Oversee procurement platform.
  • Assist in minimizing shortages and disruptions.
  • Establish and manage all pricing contracts in a systematic manner.
  • Establish a strategy to improve the metrics of product quality and cost effectiveness while maintaining supply during a rapid growth phase.
  • Assess new producers using established internal metrics.
  • Support the migration of our current producer base to implement better sustainability practices as quality and cost feasible.
  • Align with the appropriate sustainability practices and third-party verified certifications, including our publicly stated animal welfare standards.
  • Expand the reach and capacity of our internal vendor assessment tools.
  • Manage product innovation pipeline from ideation to the initial rollout stages.
  • Launch a system to house, monitor, and update our regional and national contracts.
  • Build supplier resiliency for all critical regional and national items.
  • Create a real-time system that highlights quality issues occurring within the supply chain and mitigate them before they occur at our outlets.
  • Compare proposals from multiple vendors offering the same product to improve quality.
  • Innovate with our current vendor base to improve quality and labor efficiencies in a systematic way.
  • Carefully balance the improvement of our ingredient quality and cost control standards while achieving our budgeted COGS.
  • Unbundle the components of the contracted landed costs to improve previously undiscovered inefficiencies.
  • Leverage our growth and buying power where appropriate.
  • Integrate inbound logistics solutions where needed to create faster, more efficient, and cost-effective freight options for E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences.
  • Maintain an inventory of record of materials and supplies bought.
  • Identify cost savings initiatives and create processes to reduce cost and maintain controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One to three (1-3) years of experience in Procurement, Food Systems, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Strongly proficient in Birchstreet.
  • Process-minded, strong data analytical and organization skills.
  • Problem solver: ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Accountability: sets high expectations and achieves them regardless of the barriers.
  • Quick learner; anticipates needs and is a self-starter.
  • Attention to detail; thoroughness in accomplishing tasks ensuring the job gets done right.

For Employees Based in Washington:

  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • Paid Sick & Safe Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with up to 72 hours of unused time carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

For Employees Based in Colorado:

  • 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

For such associates, eligibility for and the terms and conditions of benefits are governed by the applicable CBA and any applicable plan documents, and may differ from the benefits described above. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency, the terms of the applicable CBA and governing plan documents will control, as applicable.
