Overview

As Engineering Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the flawless operation of our property’s infrastructure, ensuring every detail reflects the uncompromising standards of luxury and performance that define our brand.

In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering department, maintaining peak efficiency and safety across all systems.  Your leadership will safeguard the integrity of our property while delivering an environment where guests and residents experience comfort, sophistication, and reliability at every turn.

Responsibilities

 
  • Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring all property systems, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing plans for preventative maintenance and asset preservation.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as ADA requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate engineering staff in customer service, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Create and manage departmental schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts; participate in monthly profit/loss reviews.
  • Implement and monitor emergency and life safety systems, ensuring inspections and certifications meet brand standards.
  • Lead energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and alarms, taking immediate action to resolve issues.
  • Review guest feedback and ensure timely resolution of any engineering-related concerns.
  • Manage vendor contracts and oversee special projects or renovations as needed.
  • Actively participate in safety committees and support all property-wide programs.

 

Qualifications

 
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience in a hotel or related field; technical certification with at least 1 year of leadership experience accepted.
  • Stationary Engineer’s license if required by local regulations.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical training preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional, service-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to safety standards, compliance, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as business needs require.
