Just a short walk or bike ride from Key West’s boutique shops, art galleries, eclectic restaurants, and non-stop nightlife, the resort spans over two city blocks and offers guest rooms that are located within easy reach of both the beach and world-famous Duval Street. 

Overview

Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the resort’s accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and support for operational departments. This role is key to maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making through timely and insightful financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

    • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
    • Analyze budget variances and present findings to management.
    • Assist in quarterly P&L reviews and forecasting.
  • Accounts Management

    • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes.
    • Monitor cash flow and ensure timely processing of payments and collections.
    • Oversee bank reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
  • Compliance & Controls

    • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal financial policies.
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Team Leadership

    • Train and support accounting staff.
    • Delegate tasks and monitor performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and service-oriented environment.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Assist in annual budget preparation.
    • Monitor actual performance against budget and recommend corrective actions.
  • Guest & Owner Relations

    • Respond to financial inquiries from guests and homeowners (if applicable).
    • Ensure accurate billing and resolve discrepancies professionally.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Opera, Micros, Vantaca, Microsoft SL).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
