Overview

Come join Highgate for the summer in one of our dynamic, paid internships!

We are currently offering an opportunity for a Internal Audit Intern to support our Finance Optimization team overseeing our Hotel Property portfolio. This 10-week immersive program is designed to provide hands-on experience in audit planning, compliance review, risk assessment, data analysis and reporting, allowing you to learn about the hospitality industry while working in a fun and fast-paced environment.

This position is based from our corporate offices in Irving, TX.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Finance Optimization team in a 10-week internship program and gain exposure to internal audit processes.
  • Provide support and gain an understanding of internal controls, audit processes and procedures and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

 

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree.
  • Minimum Junior status.
  • Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to participate in a summer internship program of 10 weeks (June to August).
  • You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite.
  • Salary - $20/hr for 40 hour week /10 weeks.
