Overview

The Regional VP of Facilities is responsible for providing support to all properties that are listed in their region.  With a focus on, capital planning, capital project support, preventative maintenance and overall asset protection.  The goal of the team will be to leverage the skills and talent of the property level GM, AGM, ADOE, AMD, Engineering and Maintenance teams to maximize value to the guest, associates, and the hotel assets. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality, organization, and a positive and professional attitude when dealing with Ownership Groups, General Managers, Senior Leadership, hotel employees, and Highgate Select co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Hotel PIP Renovations, Preventative Maintenance, Capital Planning, and Capital Project Execution
  • Support all hotels as needed to ensure all required repairs and maintenance is performed on all hotel equipment and assets as scheduled or requested by Guests, Housekeeping, and management. Such duties include but are not limited to HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs, and furniture repair/replacement,
  • Develop, implement, manage PM tracking system across all hotels under Regional VP Facilities
  • Implement, track, manage all aspects of capital projects start to finish. Including all reporting and documentation as required.
  • Support SVP Facilities to develop annual capital budget plans across all properties under Regional VP Facilities
  • Support all properties as needed to maintain hotel grounds and building
  • Support properties as needed to supervise all outside contractors to ensure they are fulfilling their contractual
  • Support and hold accountable all properties as needed to perform preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and assets per set
  • Support all properties as need with ordering supplies and monitoring department
  • Train and review Key Control policy with new General Managers and annually with all General Managers.
  • Conduct Property Assessments in person and virtually.
  • Communicate with General Managers regarding due dates for Fire Life Safety inspections, VGBA compliance, and elevator contracts.
  • Assist hotels compile annual capital budgets; securing bids and submitting budgets to owners.
  • Know hotel emergency procedures.
  • Oversee and delegate Emergency Response Training and Safety Training for hotel team
  • Perform special capital projects assigned in allotted time set for each
  • Supervise all when required all ACOM’s, ADOE’s and COM’s at all hotels under purview.
  • Current Hotels include: All Mid and West Region Coast Highgate Select as outlined
  • Establish processes, procedures, PM schedules and protocols for the POM at each property.
  • Train and supervise the ACOM’s, COM’s and tech’s
  • Be involved in the hiring process for new ACOM, ADOE, COM and tech hires as needed.
  • Develop a schedule in coordination with SVP Facilities and Assistant to visit the properties and as needed for emergency purposes.
  • Work to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies.
  • Develop energy management initiatives and promote their use.
  • Promote and track preventative maintenance activities throughout (QUORE and BOB)
  • Lead in training and mentoring programs to support the Chief of Maintenance and Maintenance departments
  • Conduct a minimum number of property-audits each year for all hotels utilizing the standardized Assessment format and report out on findings
  • Assist in the budgeting and planning process as needed.
  • Task Force coverage in the event of an Engineering vacancy.
  • Travel up to 80% by air or car.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related management experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related management experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, Guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Programs. Facilities maintenance skills, knowledge of proper chemical handling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license, vehicle
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Able to work with little or no supervision. Operate equipment such as, but not limited to, pool/spa filter pump, hand tools, power tools, leaf blower, sweeper, and pressure washer. Ability to solve complicated mathematical problems, use a tape measure, and understand liquid and weighted volumes. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
