    The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for creating and executing the business plan for the bar and all F&B programs in the hotel.  They will be overseeing marketing and sales efforts for the bar, library, and terrace spaces, and pushing revenue generation through creative partnerships. The Food and Beverage Manager will develop specialty cocktails and menus, oversee entertainment, and create a vision for the location, instilling style and a unique point of view into the bar/lounge. They are responsible for the training and development of mixologists and staff, and the smooth day-to-day operation of all beverage areas, including all events.  They are also expected to market ideas to promote business, reduce employee turnover, maintain revenue and payroll budgets, and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

    Overview

    Fundamental Requirements:

     

    • The role would drive the creation of relaxed atmospheres, media lounges, new and exciting cocktails.
    • Develop fresh concepts for the lobby and bar area, such as a seasonal grab and go including product selection and display needs
    • Develop programs for our guests that they could receive upon arrival or departure, such as a welcome cocktail or a refresher.
    • Strategic Planning & Organizational Development
    • Project planning & process development, branding strategies and value-add initiatives.
    • Provide Training, Talent Development & Team Building/SOP development of the new and exciting beverage culture
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationship with internal constituencies such as property-level managers.
    • Optimize asset values by establishing operating expectations, monitoring performance and working directly with the on-site property teams to maximize and improve operating fundamentals.
    • Create and implement a standardized programming procedure to promote and maintain Highgate Hotels standards.
    • Responsible for scheduling weekly events for guests. Programming special events for peak periods.
    • Ensure that guest experience has the ―look and feel‖ and delivery of superior guest experience.
    • Act as one of the main onsite contact for design/PR visits and VIP guests.
    • Develop overall ―vibe‖ for a unique guest experience at the property including styling, lighting and music.
    • Outside of making sure the music and lighting is trendy and exciting, this role is responsible for the handling of all VIPs and managing the atmosphere
    • Monitor industry trends, take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations. Try out different menus from top chefs, and discover the hottest trend in workout classes, yoga, fitness, spa relationships and translate that back to the bar
    • Candles, scent, uniforms, training, amenities, plants, flowers for the bar.
    • Work with artists to put artwork in the lobby for sale. Collaboration with local art/music events, wine tastings.
    • Live music coordination.
    • Provide input on a hip technology hangout for the new digital generation.
    • Resourceful client relationship coordinator with proven ability to identify strategies that improve business effectiveness
    • Build and maintain master lists of influential social media users, digital platforms, and popular content.
    • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
    • Prepare the F&B budget and monitor department performance with respect to the same. Perform any necessary follow-up, including forecasting.
    • Work with other Executive Committee members and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
    • Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the F&B department.
    • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
    • Organize and conduct daily standups and monthyl department meetings on a regular basis.
    • Monitor quality of service and product.
    • Cooperate in menu planning and preparation.
    • Ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation.
    • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
    • Ensure departmental compliance with SOP’s.
    • Ensure the training of department heads on SOP’s, report preparation, technical job tasks.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 4 or more years of related experience.
    1. Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.

     

     

    Physical requirements:

    • Long hours sometimes required.
    • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
