Overview

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and closing group business to positively impact hotel revenues for the Elevation Hotel & Spa in Crested Butte, Colorado.  Candidate must be based in/near the Denver Metro Area, have the ability to work independently and travel to the hotel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed revenue targets & sales call goals as assigned by Director of Sales
  • Actively solicit group business & respond to group inquiries in a timely manner
  • Use the property’s computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including (but not limited to) entering business, building accounts & contacts and blocking space
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts to increase account penetration and produce return business
  • Network with potential clients through active participation in community and professional associations and events
  • Attend and represent hotel at industry trade shows. Additional travel as needed.
  • Be familiar with all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR)
  • Use full working knowledge of hotel’s operations to prepare proposals
  • Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property
  • Assemble sales contracts and facilitate contract execution
  • Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to ensure that issues receive follow-up
  • Evaluate trends and assist in implementing special promotions within assigned markets
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Operate within established sales expense budget

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years Group Sales experience in a hotel or resort, preferably full service
  • Previous experience in hotel/banquet/food & beverage operations helpful
  • Strong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts
  • Knowledge of Amadeus Sales & Event Management/Delphi and Opera preferred
  • Ability to travel periodically to hotel to develop relationships and operations knowledge
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College course work in related field helpful.
  • Must be skilled in Windows & Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with guests and other employees in a friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
