    Overview

    Highgate/Hiltons of NYC is seeking an motivated and energized sales person to join our fun loving team and book corporate group at our 6 Hilton branded Hotels in New York City. Combined, the hotels offer 2,600 guest rooms and 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

    Responsibilities

    • To follow up on all sales leads & inquiries.
    • To achieve or exceed budgeted sales targets.
    • To identify prospective clients' exact needs, by qualifying.
    • To entertain prospective clients, where possible combining this with visits to existing satisfied customers.
    • To maintain communication with the client once the contract is opened and how an ongoing interest in the operation.
    • To analyze statistics thereby identifying key sales areas, problems and success rate.     
    • To research prospective client details, finding out as much as possible about the company to ensure a professional approach.
    • To constantly monitor and be aware of competitor activity.
    • To present a realistic proposal to a prospective client, having thoroughly researched cost factors, and ensure that the proposal is achievable. 
    • To constantly be aware of new business opportunities and action these.

    Qualifications

    • Applicants must ideally have NYC & major brand experience (preferably Hilton).
    • Candidate should be well versed in group sales with sound customer base/segmentation knowledge associated.
    • The ideal candidate will have the ability to book business and effectively direct sales team for multi hotels.
    • Looking for a motivated, excellent time manager with good presentation skills who can plan, lead, and implement day to day activities related to group sales.
    • Local area candidates only.
    • 3 years minimum Group Sales Management experience.

     

    • College course work in related field helpful.
    • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Must be skilled in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
    • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
    • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
    • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
    • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management.
