    Renaissance New York Hotel 57 is a contemporary 17-story hotel perfectly situated on Lexington Avenue at the corner of 57th Street, steps from Central Park, Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales while walking distance to Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, The Museum of Modern Art and many boutiques and restaurants.  All major public transportation (bus and subway lines) are within a few blocks. The hotel offers 205 guestrooms (including 19 suites) which are tastefully appointed with modern décor and upscale amenities.

    Overview

    This role will develop business opportunities through direct selling and telemarketing efforts and are responsible for in-house client requests related to meetings and group activities. Selling and servicing short term group business and ensuring all aspects of the operation are informed to provide the best possible customer service to attendees by complete Event Orders. You will facilitate tasks or requests, such as; ensure group boxes are in place, room set ups are correct, audio visual is in place, etc and assist in coordinating all details while group is in house. Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments and coordinate details with other departments such as VIP amenities, special requests, or other service needs or special handling. You may perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. 1-year food and beverage experience preferred. Minimum 1-year hotel/sales experience. Professional appearance and confidence. Strong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts. Business communication skills written and verbal. Understanding/knowledge of Microsoft office. Experience with Marriott Sales and Event systems a must. Ability to communicate effectively with public and other Team Members.  You must be able to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc. and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
