Overview

This Senior Accountant position is responsible for all accounting responsibilities related to various disciplines within the accounting department, which would include the following:

Responsibilities

  • Assists in accounting, financial reporting and controllership functions for assigned hotels and/or entities
  • Perform analytical reviews of the properties ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Coordinate with investors and lenders on ad hoc requests
  • Supervise and review the accounting for fixed assets at each of the assigned properties
  • Assist in managing the disbursement and reconciliation process for large-scale property renovations
  • Manage intercompany accounting transactions
  • Perform consolidation of multi-tiered entity structures
  • Coordinate the collection and delivery of financial reporting deliverables for investors and lenders
  • Review monthly reconciliations
  • Perform as well as supervise staff tasked with preparing and posting monthly financial statement entries and performing reconciliations
  • Manage payable transactions of the assigned entities
  • Assist in the accounting and transitions for new property acquisitions
  • Play an integral part in the successful completion of external financial audits, including report drafting and delivering information requested by auditors on a timely basis
  • Assist in the establishment, documentation and maintenance of Standard Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls for our accounting operations
  • Other special projects and responsibilities, as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 2-3 Years Public Accounting experience required
  • Prior real estate experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel required
  • Proficient with Oracle accounting systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • A strong desire to develop into a future finance and accounting leader within a dynamic organization.
